Worker Killed After Being Pinned Between Two Trucks

 Ian Martin died after an accident during a routine drop-off at a Sydney tip.

The 52 year-old worker was delivering a load in his truck at a facility in Camellia, near Parramatta, just before 8am on Monday morning. SafeWork NSW said he failed to put the brake on his vehicle -- which then began to roll away.
 
As he chased down his truck, he became crushed between the cabin door and a skip bin, knocking him unconscious.
 
Fire crews cut the door away, allowing paramedics and Careflight doctors to treat the injured man.
 
NSW Ambulance’s Jennine Kiely told reporters it was a “confronting” scene.
 
“When they arrived, they treated a male who was unconscious at the time with critical head and chest injuries,” she said.
 
He was rushed to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition. He later died.
 
His employer, Just Skip Bins, told said he was “incredibly shocked and saddened by this accident”, and were co-operating with police and SafeWork in their investigation.
 
John Scarlis, Director of Just Skip Bins said  Martin was a ' was a dedicated and valued member of the Just Skip Bins team' and offered his condolences to his wife and children.
 
"He had also become a great friend to many of us during his time at Just Skip Bins. We will miss him dearly."
 
Statements were taken from all staff who witnessed the incident. Employees were then sent home early and offered counselling as needed.
