A man in his 40’s has died after his dump truck plunged to the bottom of a quarry in Red Hill this morning.

Emergency Services were called to the scene on private property off Toodyay Road around 7.15am this morning. Initial reports suggested the man was trapped in the vehicle but he later died.
In a written statement, Hanson Construction confirmed the dump truck was travelling along the face of the quarry when it tipped into the pit.
"It is with regret that Hanson confirms that a serious incident occurred at the Redhill Quarry in Perth this morning and has tragically resulted in a fatality," a spokesperson wrote.
"Today’s accident was tragic and our thoughts go out to the driver’s family, as well as his friends and colleagues, at this difficult time," she said.
The spokesperson said Hanson was cooperating with police and was conducting an investigation in conjunction with authorities to understand how the incident occurred.
The Department of Mines, Industry Regulation and Safety has confirmed it is aware of the fatal incident and that department investigators were at the scene.
A report will be prepared for the coroner.
